Personality Profiling
Is Personality Profiling Useful In
Recruitment?
Whilst a lot of companies use personality tests
to assist them with the recruitment process, I'm not a great
fan.
Although properly qualified to carry out DISC
analysis myself, I never do it, nor do I offer it as a
service.
The reason is simply that a personality profile
(or quiz as some call them), can only ever be a snapshot in
time.
Also, many candidates understand the question
structure and will attempt to manipulate the results in
accordance with what traits they believe the employer is
seeking.
Whether the candidate is successful in doing so
or not is irrelevant, because either way, the end result can
never be accurate.
That said, there are plenty of people who use
personality profiling regularly and there are specialist
companies out there who do nothing but personality
profiling.
